Review:

This is the first store/online shopping review I have ever done. I normally would not think about doing reviews for stores; however my experiences here have prompted me to do so. A precursor to my review is as follows. I realized that my old Shochtech Supafly bolt, 2000+ length, was not properly sized for my Autococker. The bolt was too small of a bore. I decided, upon reviewing some other bolts that I would try out the new Eclipse DART bolt, as it had the benefits of being all delrin, with o-rings to still seal well. Looking online, the cheapest (and only) place to order was from Extreme Sports, Michigan. I went ahead and placed my order.

First order

I ordered my bolt online on the eighth of September, 2003, after calling their 800 number to make sure the bolt was in stock. I also ordered 2nd day air, as I wanted to play badly with this bolt. Two days later, I received e-mail notice that my bolt had been shipped out. Great, I thought. I'd have my bolt within 2 days, so I could play with it during Saturday Open Play at Michigan Tech. Nope, wrong. A week later, I still had no bolt. So I called up their store, where I talked to James, their sales manager (I assume he is anyhow). I was told that the bolt was on back order, even though when I called, they had it in stock. So fine, I waited another week, still no bolt. I called again, and was told the shipping guy had forgotten to send it out. Fine. Finally, a week later, the bolt arrived in my hands, on October 1st, exactly 23 days after I had placed my order. The bolt was the correct item I ordered, and worked just fine.

Second Order

After acquiring an AKA Merlin Autococker body from a paintball club member, I decided that I liked the Eclipse Dart bolt enough to get another one. Though a bit shaky after my first experience, I decided to order again from Extreme Sports. I called up to check if the bolt was in stock, and immediately placed my order, on November 6th. Sure enough, a little over a week later, I had a bolt in my mailbox. I excitedly opened up the box, only to discover they sent me the wrong bolt. The Merlin body requires a STO/EVO length bolt, which I had clearly asked for and indicated on my order. In my hands I held a 2000+ length bolt. Due to the date, I decided that I'd personally visit the store. I go to college about 9 hours away from my house, however the store is only 40 minutes away from my house, and I was going home for Thanksgiving break. So I called and asked if they had any of the bolts I needed, and they said they were coming in, and if I stopped by there would be a bolt available for me. So fine. On November 21st, 2003, I went to their store. Sure enough, no STO length bolt. James promised me that they were on order and would be in a few days later, which I would still be home for. Can you guess what I'm going to say next? I'm sure you can, because the bolt was not there. Another week goes by, and I still have no bolt. To save on shipping, I left the incorrect bolt with them, and made sure that I had a receipt saying that they owed me a bolt. Jump forward to Friday, December 12th. Still no bolt and I'm at college once again. I called up, and they have the bolt "in front of them", and it will be shipped out today. As of this writing, December 18, 2003, I still do not have a bolt. I leave college in two days, so I called to see if it was shipped. Of course, they didn't ship it. But, again, the package is "right in front of me". The gentleman I talked to this time, Andy I believe, started to quick talk and apologize and state that the bolt would be immediately sent out. I immediately interrupted him and asked him to hold the bolt, because I will be down at their store in 3 days to pick up my freaking bolt. So, my estimated time of delivery is 46 days, or 1 ½ months, to get a freaking bolt sent to me.

So, that's a summary of what I've gone through. I believe that the customer service from this store is absolutely horrible. Though they talked a lot and seemed nice, they never really did anything on time, and just placed blame on Planet Eclipse for not sending them shipments, which is a lot of crap, since I was told they get shipments in every week from Planet Eclipse. Delivery time is horrible. Not only does it take around two days to process the order, it takes even longer to ship.

I would recommend that anyone thinking of ordering from Extreme Sports, MI's online store should look elsewhere for their product. If you are going to order something, I hope you live near their store, or don't mind waiting an extremely long time for your product to get shipped.

As a following statement, I will be asking for my shipping money back, as in the end the bolt will NOT shipped to me, rather I will be picking it up at their store.

On a 10 point system, I give Extreme Sports a 1 out of 10. The only reason they get a 1 is because I will eventually be getting what I ordered.

Final rating: 1.0/10.0
